Why Liposuction Is So Popular With Both Men And Women

Everyday men and women across the country flooded with advertisements offering weight loss products that claim to be the next big thing in weight loss solutions. Most of us have tried all of these fad diets but have only seen minimal weight loss results. In addition, many people are not able to achieve permanent weight loss using traditional diet and exercise programs. In fact, many weight loss experts have conceded that for women diet and exercise don’t always result in significant weight loss. For all of these reasons, both men and women are choosing alternative weight loss solutions. One such fat removal solution that is now very popular with both men and women is Liposuction.

What is liposuction?

Sometimes called "liposculpture,” liposuction is now the most popular cosmetic procedure in North America and the demand for this effective fat removal procedure is continuing to rise. Liposuction is now being chosen by men and women within a very wide age range. This fat reduction procedure gets rid of areas with fat that are difficult to remove using diet and exercise. The areas of the body containing difficult to remove fat deposits include: buttocks, belly, thighs, upper arms, back, calves, knees, chin, cheeks, and neck. Liposuction is a proven method to effectively remove fat deposits in these areas.

Liposuction is so popular now due to the proven fat removal results in areas where it is normally difficult to remove the fat deposits. When a person gets liposuction, they are actually contouring their body by removing the fat in the troubled fat spots. These areas are targeted so that when the fat is removed the body starts to contour revealing the true physique. Men and women like this procedure not just for the results, but it is an affordable and non-invasive procedure. As well, with this procedure, there is minimal bleeding and bruising and patients recover much faster than other weight loss procedures.

The process

When you have liposuction, you will normally go to a weight loss clinic offering liposuction. A surgeon that performs the procedure will give an exam to make sure liposuction is right for you and you are in good health. Once it has been determined that you can have the procedure, you will be provided with information about how the procedure is performed, what you have to do before the procedure, and what you have to do after the procedure to help ensure there are no complications. When preparing for liposuction, you will be given a list of things you must avoid such as smoking, certain medications, iron supplements, etc.

When you undergo liposuction, you will be given a general or local anesthetic. An incision is made into the target areas and a cannula that is secured to a suction machine will be inserted under the skin. Like a vacuum, the fat will be sucked through the cannula and removed from the target area. The liposuction procedure will be performed in key trouble spots.  It often takes about an hour to have the procedure. Tumescent liposuction is a commonly used liposuction method because a special intravenous solution is injected in to fat deposits so that it swells. By doing so, a lot more fat can be extracted.

When asked, most people will likely say they have extra fat they would like to lose but have had a really tough time losing it in key troubled spots. Liposuction is an effective fat removal procedure that can help when diet and exercise fails. Every year, men and women all over the country are benefiting from liposuction.
