5 Foods You Should Eat To Avoid Cavities

When it comes to eating right in order to avoid cavities, most people know what to avoid – i.e. sugary foods. However as much as there are foods that can contribute to tooth decay, there are also those that can help you to avoid it – and you should consider incorporating some of the latter into your diet.

While there are several different types of food that are good for your teeth, these 5 in particular will be a good place to start:

  • Cheese

It may sound surprising, but cheese is actually great for your teeth. Research has shown that eating cheese will raise the pH level in your mouth and help reduce the risk of tooth decay.   • Yogurt

While yogurt may not be quite as chewy as cheese, it contains calcium and protein as well – which makes it good for them.   • Celery

  • Leafy greens

Vegetables that are green and leafy tend to be on the top of any list of healthy foods, and the same applies when you’re trying to avoid cavities. Because of how rich these vegetables are in vitamins and other nutrients they can help to promote good oral health. Some leafy greens such as spinach and kale also contain calcium, and so you should try to include them for the best results.

  • Almonds

One of the tastiest foods that is good for your teeth has got to be almonds. Not only are they low in sugar but they are also high in calcium and protein, which makes them perfect on all fronts. Whether you like to eat a handful by themselves or include them in other dishes is up to you, but make sure you include them in some way.
