Top 5 Must-Have Day Spa Treatments

If you need something that will provide you with the combination of a well-deserved getaway and a much-needed pick-me-up, but you don’t have a lot of money or time to take a vacation to another city or state, we have the perfect solution: book a day at one of your local spas. By going this route, not only can your mind get some of the rest and relaxation that it needs, but your body can get rejuvenated as well—all without having to break your budget in the process.

If this has piqued your curiosity and you want to know about some of the must-have day spa treatments that you should book in advance, we have enclosed a list of what we consider to be our “top five” below:

A facial. Whether you have oily, dry, acne-prone, sensitive or even combination skin, your face (and neck) will be so thankful that you got a facial. Not only does it deeply cleanse the skin (so that dirt and dead skin can be removed from your pores), but facials also increase the flow of oxygen to the blood cells in your face, plus they provide assistance in delaying the aging process too.

A massage. Something else that can have your body feeling like a million dollars is a massage. That’s because they help to ease pain; they relieve the symptoms of anxiety and depression; they increase alertness, minimize PMS symptoms and also help to improve sleep patterns. Whether you can afford 30-minutes or a 90-minute session, definitely make sure to put it on your list.

A mani/pedi. Contrary to popular belief, manicures and pedicures are not something that only women should have. As a matter of fact, although both men and women can benefit from its aesthetic advantages, because a professional one removes dead skin cells (ones that can lead to callouses and corns), hydrates the skin and also disinfects the toes and nails, look at a mani/pedi as being a preventative step towards preventing any fungal infections or foot problems in the future.

A face (or body) wax. Something that a day spa in Newton, Chicago or even Memphis will offer is body waxing for the purpose of removing unwanted hair. Although there isn’t a real health risk that comes with having hair all over our bodies, the main benefit that comes with having it professionally waxed is that it ultimately saves you money. Thanks to having a spa waxing done, you won’t have to worry about shaving, tweezing or threading for at least 4-6 weeks.

A body scrub. And finally, don’t leave the spa without getting a full body scrub. This 30-minute (or so) painless procedure will improve blood flow, exfoliate, improve cellulite and aging and leave your skin absolutely glowing. It’s the perfect investment into your skin during the summer months when you’re wearing a bikini or during the winter holiday season when you’ll be attending a lot of festive events.

We do feel like we should tell you that to get all of this, you need to be prepared to spend anywhere between $300-500. However, trust us when we say that it is money well spent. Besides, when it comes to all that you do each day, you are definitely worth a spa day full of pampering!
